Kapok Tree
The Kapok tree is a emergent tree of the tropical rainforests. It can grow more than 150 feet tall. The trunks can reach a diameter of 9 feet. It is native to South America but has now spread to the Southeast Asian rainforests of the Malay peninsula. In many places the trunks of Kapok trees are used for dugout canoes.
